Mystery of Nidhivan निधिवन | Lord Krishna in Vrindavan | Raas Leela
Welcome to this episode of BigShow Prime, where I take you to a temple in Lord Krishna's favorite garden, the Vrindavan. The temple is called Nidhivan, where it is claimed that Lord Krishna visits every night for his Rasaleela. Lets explore.
RAAS LEELA
Raas leela is a divine play, a form of dance, devoid of carnal desires. For this very reason, it cannot be understood by a materialistic and unpure heart. The gopis are none other than sages who had done rigorous tapasya, or meditation in their previous births, with the single minded devotion of Lord Krishna. They have been re-incarnated as Gopis to merge with their beloved Lord, in the Raas Leela.
It is said that such pure souls only hear the sound of Lord Krishna's divine flute during the play. This also means that everyone cannot participate in Raas Leela.
Raas Leela signifies the unification of the individual soul with the higher soul. Lord Krishna shows the world that pure love is unconditional. Worldly people, like you and me, always find it difficult to understand a love so pure, that it wants nothing, expects nothing.
And as per the scriptures and texts, the Raas Leela is said to have taken place in Lord Krishna's favorite garden, the Vrindhaavan.
THE NIDHIVAN TEMPLE
The Nidhivan temple. This is one of Lord Krishna's holy abodes. The name translates to Treasure Forest. Nidhi - treasure and Van - forest. The land in and around the temple is totally dry. Yet, the trees in the forest are all green, throughout the year. Plenty of monkeys and chirping birds around. If you notice the trees, they all have extraordinary shapes. You will notice that the inner of the tree are hollow and it stands only on its bark. Yet the green leaves indicate the trees are healthy. This is puzzling. It is claimed that the trees are over a 5,000 years old, which have also been proven scientifically. The trees are a type of Basil, also known as Tulsi, that emanates a fragrant smell. We all know Tulsi as a plant, said to grow to about 90-100 cms.. This is said to be the only place in the world that we see Tulsi trees, grown to 9-10 feet height; without a drop of water. It is said that these trees transform themselves into Gopis when Lord Krishna visits them every night, and dance with him.
THE MYSTERY
Just before the temple closes, the priests keep various preparations of fresh food, clothes, and several other articles that are known to be loved by Krishna, Radha and the gopis. The temple closes at 7:00 pm in the evening. The sanctum sanctorum and the temple are then shut and sealed with multiple locks and chains, in the presence of devotees. The garden is also checked for anyone hiding there and the priest announces that it is dangerous to be inside and that the gates are being shut. When the temple is opened in the morning at 5:00 am, in the presence of devotees, we find that some of the food seem to have been eaten by someone, the betel leaves have been chewed, the clothes have been used, and so on. It is amazing, unbelievable. It is believed that Lord Krishna himself comes every night, to dance with the gopis. The trees that I mentioned earlier. A separate bedroom which is designed as a resting place for Radha and Krishna, also show signs of having been used the previous night. It has been a mystery for ages.
Non-believers, as everything related to any mystery, have a lot of stories to say. However, there have been attempts to sneak in and find out what is happening. People who tried to hide and stay back, or jump over into the garden to find out what is happening, have all been destroyed. Some have died, some have gone blind, some have developed mental illness, some have lost their family instantly, and so on. In short, no one who has been a witness, has been able to convey in clear terms, what he or she actually saw.
People have tried installing cameras there too. Yes, it is reported that the cameras, even spy cameras, have all either been destroyed, malfunctioned, damaged, or just missing. Its chilling. The very thought of it.
The locals report sometimes hearing the sound of ghungroos at night. They are small bells that are tied to the feet of dancers. Some told us that sometimes the whole area appears lit up with some light, and they suggest that the trees emit light in happiness. Yes. BTW, there are no electricity cables criss-crossing the Vrindhavan. Batteries neither
Many historians and scientists, in a bid to unlock the mystery have visited this place but came back convinced that this place really houses the Lord. All of them reported that they felt strong super-natural vibes, a strange calmness of their souls, and happiness.
I believe, that if we eliminate all the impossibilities, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. The door was locked and chained. The priest had the keys. Nobody went in. Nobody came out. And yet, the offerings had been touched! A Classic Agatha Christie plot, only this time it is not fiction… It happens everyday in Nidhivan! It is said that even the monkeys and birds inside Nidhivan, come out at dusk and return only in the morning.
HISTORICAL PROOF
The garden also houses the live samadhi, or live burial place of singer Haridas. It is said that having been satisfied with the singing of hymns in praise of the Lord and his meditation for more than a dozen years, Lord Krishna and Radha appeared before him and blessed him.The existence of singer Haridas is confirmed through an instance with King Akbar too. King Akbar, himself a great lover of music, once called on Haridas to sing for him and his courtiers in his court. Haridas replied that his voice and thoughts are only for the Lord and for none else. That was very brave of him too. Later, Tansen, a great singer himself, is said to have sung in praise of Haridas himself.
When references in history also points to the truth of certain characters in mythology, I think we have to accept it as the truth. However, I feel that this mystery will remain a mystery. It is perhaps when we begin to believe all this wholeheartedly, will we evolve into the next stage of intelligence and wisdom.
We hope that we have succeeded in giving you some information through this episode. More information can be had from the Maha Bhagavadham, a sacred text. Please write your comments here in the blog or below THIS VIDEO and we will be happy to take this discussion forward.
